Banana Shire Mobile Library
Operating on a two-weekly cycle, the Banana Shire Mobile Library stops at ten different locations plus five schools around our 15 700km2 shire. The truck carries a range of library materials, and also has a play area for small children. It is a recent addition to the library, only becoming available for use in September 2006.
The pictorial artwork on the sides of the truck represents each town in our shire. The truck is an Iveco Daily 65C17 with a 3L, 4 cylinder direct-injection, turbo, intercooled diesel engine.
